Das Ka Dhamki Movie: What's Behind

Vishwak Sen's Das Ka Dhamki is capturing the imagination of all. Expectations are high as the film is directed by Vishwak Sen and the film releasing in various languages. The film's teaser, songs, and trailer got a good response. The film's OTT partner is yet to be finalized. Let us find out whether Das Ka Dhamki turned powerful or not.

Das Ka Dhamki: Story Review

Das Ka Dhamki's story is all about a waiter who suffers insults due to his poor financial status and his look-alike, who is the Doctor and CEO of a top pharmaceutical company, and where their journey heads to. Krishna Das (Vishwak Sen), a waiter in a hotel always faces insults due to his financial status. One day he gets attracted to a beautiful girl Keerthi (Nivetha Pethuraj) and he goes all out to woo her when she mistakes him for the CEO of SR Pharma Life, he acts in the same manner.

However, she comes to know about the real truth and then he will get thrown out of the hotel and his rented house. When everything seemed lost, some interesting and shocking incidents happen in his life. What are those shocking incidents and how they are connected to Dr. Sanjay Rudra (Vishwak Sen), his family members (Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Prithviraj, and others), investor Dhananjay (Ajay) Deepthi (Akshara Gowda), friends Aadi (Hyper Aadi), Mahesh (Mahesh Achanta) from the rest of the story.

Das Ka Dhamki: Artists Review

Vishwak Sen showcased his acting talent once again. He is improvising and improving on the acting front with each film and this is proven on the screen. He showed the frustration of a waiter who gets insulted by all and sundry and how he aspires and dreams to become rich. His body language and dialogue delivery is good and impressive. In the role of the CEO, he looked suave and stylish. He showed subtle variations in both roles and moulded his dialogue delivery accordingly.

Nivetha Pethuraj got the glamorous role and did full justice by flaunting her curves on the screen. She did not get much scope to show her acting talent. Hyper Adi and Mahesh Achanta performed well and created a few laughs. Rao Ramesh and Ajay played the roles that are in their comfort zone. Rao Ramesh as usual came up with his trademark expressions to liven the proceedings. Others like Rohini, Tharun Bhascker, and Prithviraj performed according to their characters.

Das Ka Dhamki: Technicians Review

Das Ka Dhamki's story is penned by Prasanna Kumar Bezawada and Vishwak Sen worked on it accordingly. Vishwak Sen with immense confidence in the story decided to pen the screenplay and even direct the film. On top of it, his father produced the film. The first half narration starts in a routine but the entertaining manner with Vishwak Sen elevating the scenes with his expressions, emotions, and mannerisms.

The first half sails through smoothly on a predictable note with an interesting interval block. Thus the first half turns out to be the decent one setting the tone for the second half. The second half, as Vishwak Sen claimed included a lot of twists. He expressed confidence that it will blow the minds of all. But the twists completely misfired and the second half ended up testing the patience of the viewers.

The second half twists turned out to be silly and amateurish to some extent and are full of monotonous flavor. Apart from it, the screenplay went awry and though Vishwak Sen tried to impress with the mother sentiment, it failed to touch viewers emotionally.

The songs tuned by Leone James are foot-tapping and attractive. The music is good and the songs are shot in a beautiful way in the backdrop of exotic locations. His background score is ok. However, he could have elevated it more with his BGM. The cinematography of Dinesh K Babu is good and appealing. The editing of Anwar Ali could have been better as the narration slowed down and many repetitive scenes occurred especially in the second half. Production values of Vishwaksen Cinemas banner are good.

Das Ka Dhamki: Advantages

  • Vishwak Sen
  • Interval bang

Das Ka Dhamki: Disadvantages

  • Inane Editing
  • Silly Screenplay
  • Senseless Second Half

Das Ka Dhamki: Rating Analysis

Altogether, Das Ka Dhamki has been annoying with over twists. its highlights the risk taken by Vishwak Sen but Vishwak shone as the actor but failed as a director. It seems as a director, he decided to reduce the similarities in the story between Das Ka Dhamki and other earlier films and recent hits and twisted the entire second half and this turned the film from a romantic entertainer to an action thriller but in the process, the screenplay went awry. Everything looked confusing and it misfired on Vishwak Sen in no time. His affair with the director became a misadventure and changed the fate of the film. Had Vishwak Sen stayed grounded and allowed another director to direct the film or did not tamper with the story with so many twists, Dhamki wouldn't have been so soundless. Considering all these points, Cinejosh goes with a 2 Rating for Das Ka Dhamki.
